"On the morning of Thursday, July 31, Israeli military forces, accompanied by bulldozers, arrived at the site of one of the two propagation units of the Palestinian National Seed Bank in the West Bank city of Hebron. The bank, established in 2010, is dedicated to collecting, multiplying and preserving local plant seeds, with an emphasis on heirloom varieties of crops and plants of economic importance.

Seeds stored in the bank's units, in which research is also conducted, are grown seasonally, in cycles, with an aim of keeping them viable for future generations. Each year, the Palestinian bank provides free seeds to hundreds of agricultural workers, in an effort to encourage the preservation of the genetic diversity of some 80 traditional varieties.

The main propagation unit, south of Hebron, included four dunams (about an acre) of cultivated land – this time of year, the plots were overflowing with tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, gourds and other summer crops – as well as a 50-square-meter metal structure that included a control room and space for storing equipment.

But at 9 A.M. on that recent Thursday, according to Palestinian reports, Israeli Defense Forces soldiers arrived at the site, forcibly removed a Palestinian agricultural engineer from the premises and then used bulldozers to demolish the structure along with its contents: irrigation and monitoring systems, tools for cleaning and drying seeds and important documents relating to the agricultural research conducted there."

Israeli military admits to deliberately killing Al Jazeera journalist
The Israeli military has shared a statement acknowledging that it attacked and killed Anas al-Sharif in the Gaza City area.

It claimed that al-Sharif, a well-known correspondent for Al Jazeera Arabic, was acting “under the pretence of an Al Jazeera journalist” while actually working for Hamas.

The Israeli military also claimed that it took steps to minimise harming civilians before the attack on a tent housing journalists outside al-Shifa Hospital, which killed at least five journalists.
Israel bombed journalist tent hours after Netanyahu said he would let some foreign media into Gaza
The Israeli army’s attack on a journalists’ tent outside al-Shifa Hospital, which killed five Al Jazeera staff members, came hours after the Israeli prime minister told foreign media he had decided to allow some foreign journalists into the Gaza Strip.

“In fact, we have decided, and I’ve ordered, directed the military, to bring in foreign journalists, more foreign journalists,” Netanyahu said at the news conference in Jerusalem.

“There’s a problem of assuring security, but I think it can be done in a way that is responsible and careful to preserve your own safety,” he added.

The Israeli authorities have long prevented any foreign media from entering the Gaza Strip, while it has deliberately targeted and killed close to 200 local Palestinian journalists since October 2023.

Hoda Abdel-Hamid
Reporting from Amman, Jordan

Al Jazeera is reporting from Amman, Jordan, because it has been banned from Israel and the occupied West Bank.

When you read the statement issued by the Israeli army, which was well prepared before all this happened, it’s almost as if it is bragging about it.

It alleges that Anas al-Sharif was a member of the military wing of Hamas, and the army says that it has found documents in Gaza that prove their point.

It includes some links to content that anyone could have printed.

This has been going on for a few weeks, ever since al-Anas started reporting on the starvation in Gaza, and he had such a huge impact on the Arab world.

Immediately after, a spokesman for the Israeli army in Arabic… posted a video on social media, accusing al-Sharif of being a Hamas member and threatening him.

I was going through his feed on X. He knew his life was a serious risk, and he repeatedly wrote that he was just a journalist, and he wanted his message to be spread widely, because he thought that was a way to protect him.

Fazit

@ErikUden
Das rote Dreieck wurde doch für die politische Gefangenen genutzt...
Ein rotes Dreieck ist sehr kontextabhängig, ja.
Danke für deine Ausführung!

The humanitarian aid crisis in Gaza has posed one of the most complex and controversial challenges since the start of the Oct. 7 war in 2023. For months, aid distribution was dominated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinians (UNRWA), but this process was repeatedly compromised by the Hamas terrorist organization, which routinely looted supplies and sold them on the black market to fund its operations.
Hundreds of truckloads of aid would frequently pile up on the Gaza side of the border, left undelivered. Israel consistently accused the UN and other NGOs of failing to get the aid to civilians, highlighting the urgent need for a new distribution model that bypassed Hamas and the UN agency that covered up for their actions.
To that end, Israel and the US came up with a new initiative to distribute the aid: The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). Operated by a US security contractor with IDF perimeter protection, the GHF began delivering food directly to Palestinian civilians in late May.
In an exclusive interview on THE ROSENBERG REPORT, Rev. Dr. Johnnie Moore – appointed by US President Trump to lead the GHF – explained the scope and impact of the project.
“It’s like any of the large private humanitarian international organizations,” Moore said. “It’s a U.S. foundation. The contractors on the ground that are facilitating all of the food delivery, that have set up all the operation – these are incredibly skilled technical experts. They’re all Americans.”
