Russia said on Friday that French President Emmanuel Macron had spoken in a manner unbecoming of a head of state when he called Russian President Vladimir Putin "an ogre at our gates".

Seriously @EUCommission?
Imho the #EU would be much more secure on a minimal budget if #pumpgunUschi would be locked up in #Russia, not spreading #fascism in Scandinavia.

Does the end of the war in Ukraine mean the end of the threat from Russia? President Trump is considering convening a trilateral meeting with Putin and Zelensky, which could influence the course of the conflict. However, even if an agreement is reached, the threat of Russian imperialism will not disappear for Poland.

In all, ofcls said, #Russia launched 598 drones & 31 missiles in the overnight strikes on #Kyiv & other cities, & Ukrainian defenses shot down 563 drones & 26 missiles.
President #Zelensky of #Ukraine said that the Russian bombardment was the Kremlin’s answer to the recent diplomatic attempts to halt the fighting.
“Russia chooses ballistics instead of the negotiating table. It chooses to continue killing instead of ending the war. And this means that Russia still does not fear the consequences.”
An hourslong barrage of Russian missiles & drones killed at least 14 people in #Ukraine’s capital, including 3 children, early Thurs. The attack, which they said also injured at least 45, was the largest on Kyiv since #Trump’s meeting with #Putin of #Russia nearly 2 weeks ago.

Surprisingly, none of the #Russia media targeted for the Western audience - RT, “socialist”, alt-right etc - made a single mention of this 🤔
Russia will formally withdraw from Europe’s convention for the prevention of torture, a move some rights advocates say is largely symbolic given the country’s already worsening human rights record.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on Saturday proposing that President Vladimir Putin submit the withdrawal to the State Duma, Russia’s lower house of parliament. The decree was first made public on Monday evening.

"Last week, Russia announced it will require that all new phones and tablets sold within its borders pre-install a messaging app called Max. Security experts who did technical analyses of Max’s software for Forbes said it’s a privacy nightmare.
While Russia’s interior ministry has claimed the app, made by Russian social media giant VK, is more secure than competitors, a cybersecurity researcher found that Max constantly monitored all user activity on the app with“excessive tracking.” The researcher, who completed the analysis with phone forensics tool Corellium, asked to remain anonymous for fear of reprisals by Russian intelligence agencies.
“This app just gathers all the data and logs it. I don’t remember seeing that in any messenger app,” they said. “Max is not secure at all. There is no cryptography, unless it’s hidden very well, but I doubt that. It is insecure by design to serve its purpose: people surveillance.”
Max was launched in March, and appears to be limited to Russian and Belarussian phone numbers. Functionally it works similar to messaging apps like Telegram and Whatsapp, but it also has an AI chatbot called GigaChat 2.0 and the ability to book travel and make bank transfers."

I find this report by Group-IB quite intriguing since it would appear to suggest a collaboration between Chinese and Russian actors.
That itself is interesting and would appear to mimic the geopolitical landscape where Russia and China are quite cozy.

There are many methods we can use to tackle the #climateCrisis#climateChange by reducing our dependency on #fossilFuels
Personally, I am inclined to embrace #Kyiv's method for doing so:
Just fucking bomb the refineries
💪 😤 🇺🇦
"#Ukraine knocks out 17% of #Russia’s oil capacity — and that’s just this month, Reuters says
#Moscow’s #energySecurity unravels as Ukraine escalates long-range attacks on its most vulnerable assets."

Respect for the rule of law is a must for all EU funding.
The proposed future EU budget makes that commitment steadfast.
That is why we are proposing:
✅ Robust safeguards to ensure respect for the rule of law and fundamental rights
✅ Strong incentives to uphold the rule of law and support civil society
✅ Clear conditionalities – breaches must be addressed, or payments can be suspended
Our shared values are essential for Europe’s democracy, security and economic stability.
