Avant Google y'avait AltaVista et DMOZ. Et ça marchait très bien.
AltaVista indexait tout, et il était puissant. Il y avait aussi AskJeeves. Et divers autres moteurs qui avaient leur propre crawler et leur propre indexe.
DMOZ, c'était un annuaire de sites intéressants, tenu par des humains. Le tout bien proprement triés par catégories.

Google pourra crever, il y aura d'autres moteurs (Mojeek, Kagi, etc.)

I was startled by how little pushback this got from my readers. Or maybe it just shows the effect of the first Trump presidency.

Something I'm trying is to say "punishment-first approach to public safety" instead of "tough on crime." To us leftists, the second phrase has a bad connotation, but to the general public, it doesn't. The politicians who popularized it used it as a selling point.
