In April 2026, Colombia and the Netherlands convened the First Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels in Santa Marta. The conference is the first of a “series of conferences” agreed to by the 18 nation-states participating in the development of a Fossil Fuel Treaty, and will be a solutions-focused forum operating outside the auspices of traditional international climate architecture. https://www.fossilfueltreaty.org/conference #climate
