Here is another one of the wonderful people and organizations we have on Feedle, who also happens to be active on Mastodon: @ernie
Make sure to check them out and say hi from us! 👋
Check out PieFed.
Piefed, has a slightly different purpose?
Mastodon is more of a Twitter-type thing, Piefed is more of a Reddit-type thing. It's difficult to directly compare them because they are doing different things.
@franksting i've been with leaptel before and liked em, heard some bad feedback from neptune users
@decryption i want to go with someone who will take charge of solving my nbn issue which ABB appear not to care about
@jasongorman but until recently, having a large team was the only way for a manager to get a raise and get promoted
@otfrom But now they can say "Thanks to AI..."

I deliberately overprovisioned because I expect more reports to come during the day.
@christopherkunz the only "problem" now is that this new batch is high quality so we need more icons =)
@decryption why did you choose them over for example Neptune?

A tiny Bonfire feature that we’ve grown quite fond of 🌱
Instance admins can define their own set of default avatars, which are randomly assigned to people who haven’t uploaded a profile picture yet.
It sounds like a very small thing and technically, it is.
But after experimenting with it on the Jacobin community, we noticed how much these little details can contribute to giving an instance its own visual identity and fostering a sense of belonging to a shared digital place.
Not every feature that shapes a community needs to be big. Sometimes it’s just a bunch of tiny avatars 😊

It is amazing how many bugs a little transfer library can have...

#AI writing is ghostwriting. You are publishing words that you did not originate, and claiming them as your own. A WSJ editorial written with AI is like giving a human writer a list of your opinions, then taking the essay they create and sticking your name on it. It is unethical and disgusting, irrespective of whether or not your WSJ editor approves of the practice. All AI writing that can be identified as such with available tools to a high degree of certainty should be called out and marked for public shaming.
@lauren except ‘available tools’ largely means more AI and is about as reliable as a seaside fortune teller.
