Sadly mount -o union is not recursive, which makes the kind of impermanence I had in mind more complicated. OTOH, mount_union is recursive, so that might be helpful - but I need to read its manpage fully, to see if it's a good fit.
I mean, I will have to read the manpage at some point, because I am not doing impermanence schenanigans for now.

Or, I can use mount_null to bind mount /storage/$foo to appropriate places... So I have / unencrypted, which includes parts of /usr. Then I have /storage encrypted, and null-mount /storage/var to /var, /storage/usr/pkg to /usr/pkg, etc.
Hm. Actually, I don't need /usr/pkg encrypted. The stuff I'd like crypted are scattered all around the place, really.
So, uhh... for now, I'll just go with an unencrypted /. I'll play with encryption and partitioning and impermanence once I'm more familiar with NetBSD and its capabilities.

So happy to have captured this — my best astro photo to date. This is, of course, the Andromeda Galaxy, our nearest galactic neighbor at a stone’s throw of 2.5 million light years away. You can also see M110 and M32, its two brightest satellite galaxies (out of a whopping 35 dwarf galaxies orbiting around it). Shot with a Dwarf 3 telescope under a starry Idaho night sky, which was stunning even with the naked eye.

Saw some guy yesterday just walking down the street carrying a big stick like a staff, and since I knew immediately what was up I rolled up to him and said, "Hey, guy! That's a great stick!" and he said "Right!?!?" like that was the best thing anyone had said to him in a week.
