Abstract: Understanding the housing and residential mobility of migrant populations is crucial to facilitate their integration into host societies. Yet, little is known about their experiences across generations, origin groups, and country contexts. This study investigates residential mobility and housing changes among immigrants and their descendants in five European countries (United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden) with different housing markets and migrant populations. Using longitudinal data from 2010 to 2019, we first compare the risk of a residential move across migrant generations, origins groups, and host countries. We then study the propensity to move to different housing tenure types (i.e., homeownership, private renting, and social renting). We find distinct patterns of residential moves among migrant generations and origin groups. First, immigrants’ residential mobility levels vary across origin groups and country contexts. However, we generally find lower mobility for the second generation compared to the first in all groups...

Joint Statement by the Leaders of the Nordic-Baltic Eight
We - the leaders of the Nordic-Baltic Eight - spoke with President Zelenskyy today. We have from the outset of Russia's war of aggression stood by Ukraine's side and we will continue to do so. Our resolve comes from the fact that we know that this is not only about Ukrainian security, it is also about the wider security of Europe.
Ukraine has continuously shown that it is serious about peace. We commend President Zelenskyy for his efforts to steer Ukraine through these very challenging times. Ukraine remains ready to negotiate and, as stated by President Zelenskyy, is working on the document prepared by the US. Russia has so far not committed to a ceasefire or any steps leading to peace. Instead, Russia continues its brutal attacks against Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure.
Solutions that respect Ukraine's sovereignty and that will bring Ukraine and Europe greater security and stability have our full support.
We will continue to arm Ukraine and strengthen Europe's defence to deter further Russian aggression. As long as Russia continues its war against Ukraine, we will also support strengthening sanctions and wider economic measures.
Finally, to the Ukrainian people: Your resolve, determination and courage has been truly admirable from the outset of the war. We want you to know that you are not alone and can count on our support.

Imagine a quiet Swedish winter night. Snow falls softly, blanketing the ground in silence. A small red wooden cottage stands beside a narrow path, its windows glowing warm, light spilling onto the snow. The door is open, revealing a fire’s gentle crackle and the scent of burning birch. Wooden fences line the path, topped with snow, and wild grass pokes through like frozen whispers. Tall trees, heavy with snow and icicles, surround the cottage, their branches creaking faintly. In the distance, a shed hides under white, and dim lights hint at life nearby. Cold air nips at your face, but the cottage radiates warmth — cozy, safe, inviting. This is a peaceful retreat: isolated yet comforting, still yet alive with quiet warmth. Sweden’s winter charm, captured in a moment of calm.
