They were journalists & professors, a pollster in Texas, an anime artist & a filmmaker in Hollywood, whose account posted a video doctored by #AI to impersonate a Canadian police official criticizing France’s president, Emmanuel Macron.

As we learned back when the DDoS attack took #Bluesky offline for days, their centralized vibe coded network is vulnerable. The fact that the Russians are finding ways to hack into it should not be surprising.

1. Mastodon was hit by what I assume (I do not have any factual info on this) was the same actor: https://techcrunch.com/2026/04/20/mastodon-says-its-flagship-server-was-hit-by-a-ddos-attack/

2. No-one is hacking into Bluesky, this is good old-fashioned account takeover/hijacking, likely weak passwords.

3. The same Russian group is all over Mastodon, thousands of accounts created. They can't create accounts on Bluesky because Bluesky can (centrally) identify them. On Mastodon, there are thousands of attack points.

1. Mastodon was hit by a DDoS attack back in April and .social only was affected for a couple hours.

2. From the reporting your assertion here does not seem accurate.

3. Don't understand this point. Of course anyone can make fake accounts. This is not what is being reported.
