@ami_angelwings "If You Leave" by OMD and "Mambo No. 5" by Lou Bega have the most generic lyrics I ever encountered. It's like they weren't even trying -- just the first thing that popped into their head that rhymed, even if it was internally inconsistent and didn't make sense.
Lee Greenwood's "Proud to Be an American" probably qualifies too -- it's just a string of obvious "patriotic" cliches that he didn't even bother to try to make sense. For example it should either be "proud to be an American, so at least I know I'm free" or "proud to live in America, where at least I know I'm free" -- "an American" is not a "where." More evidence, if we needed any, that conservatives think in cliches. #MoodMusicMonday
