watching a #PBS American Masters special about Brenda Lee and am now OBSESSED. am blown away that so many classic rock ’n roll songs and #music ―that i don’t even think of because they’re somehow always playing in the background― were recorded and made smash hits by her. i now NEEEEEEEED a compilation of all her music. Brenda Lee’s voice is like none other in American #pop music.

#Listening to Break In The Weather, a single by Jenny Morris. It was the big single from her 1991 album Honeychild, which I remember owning on tape cassette when I was still a child myself;

On paper this is a fairly by-the-numbers pop song. But Jenny's delivery is bang on, the backing band is super funky (great live too), and the music video is oddly compelling.

I remember I went to check on her, but that was still that moment of my life where I was listening only to metal and I did not dig deeper on her music.
