Larch and conifer trees line a rocky mountainside, dividing the photo in half diagonally. The slope of the mountain in the foreground is light-coloured glacial rock deposit. The mountain slope in the background is also mostly glacial rock, but is in shadow, and yields a nice contrast to the foreground. The larch trees pop out from the conifers they stand alongside in the middle, as they are lighter-coloured and also lit by the sun.
