Two bluebirds are in the small feeder, one bluebird is hovering above them, attempting to land and one is perched nearby, awaiting its turn.

Two male bluebirds were fighting over the feeder. One took to the air and got the upper wing, so to speak. Once one bird gets their claws close to their opponents eyes, the contest is over, as no bird wants an eye injury. Here the hovering bird, beak open aggressively, brings its claws down on its opponent's head.

Bonjour les mastonautes,

Hier en début d'après-midi, tous les oiseaux présents dans le jardin se sont brutalement envolés et puis plus rien, pendant plusieurs minutes c'était le silence quasi absolu. C'est en levant légèrement les yeux que j'ai compris ce qui se passait, un épervier d'Europe, (un mâle), posé sur une branche de noisetier observait attentivement l'ensemble du jardin. La situation est redevenue normale au bout d'un quart d'heure après l'envol du rapace.

Épervier posé sur une branche de noisetier. On distingue nettement des zones orange sur son poitrail ainsi que des stries marron. C'est un mâle. L'oiseau semble attentif ( et pour cause, juste au dessous se trouve un poste de nourrissage hivernal pour les passereaux ). J'ai pris cette photo à travers les carreaux de la fenêtre de ma cuisine dans des conditions de lumière peu favorable, néanmoins ça reste convenable et suffisant pour une identification.
