Is there a German word that encapsulates “the joy of running in muddy trails in the misty morning”?
When I ran ten years ago I had upbeat music to motivate me.
Nowadays I enjoy all the headspace I have when I run. I listen to the beat of my steps onto the ground, I thrive in the soothing songs of the wind and the birds around.
It’s the little “me time” I can get. I’m fine alone with my thoughts, I don’t need anybody else’s to interrupt mine.
Third week of physio training to recover from tendinitis. A few observations
1. It feels so good to run.
2. I didn’t know how to run, being trained by a professional is invaluable.
3. My Garmin watch is fantastic to monitor my training, but dangerously bad as a running coach.
To nobody’s surprise, to feel well humans still need other humans, and technology can only support us in our interactions, not replace us.
Two days of rest and I can already almost walk without limping! Begone, tendinitis!
Egh, I think it’s indeed tendinitis at the Achilles tendon and I’ll have to pause my training :(
My Forerunner 165 made me start too hard with its suggested exercises before I enrolled in a program… and I never recovered.
I’ll try one week without running, and if it doesn’t improve I’ll go see a doctor.
Is it weird that running at a faster pace goes easier on my knees?
I’m running with barefoot shoes, always landing on the front half of the foot. I have a feeling that running at a faster pace changes my posture a bit, makes my calves work more and my knees less.
