Headed to Seoul, South Korea for 10 days later this spring to catch up with a childhood friend and explore the region. Looking for recommendations of places to go and things to do for someone into:

• Landscape Architecture + Urban Design (interesting plazas, parks, playgrounds, etc.)
• Puppetry + Theatre
• Hiking in nature (explore local geology + ecosystems)

Whatta ya got for me, Fediverse?!

A photo of the Seoul skyline just after sunset. A sea of blue glass buildings reflect yellow, orange, and white city lights. A mountain in the Center of the city stands deep purpley-blue while the sky behind it blends from a soft orangy-pink up to an inky blue. A lone, slender tower emerges from the mountain top, illuminated from within while it's mid-section bulges in blue.

I made a meme for all my fellow urbanists, and everyone who loves human centered cities, quality of life and progress :)

#toulouse #car #cars #park #parks #progress #puns #urbanism

Two pictures from the same vantage point looking out over the same area in Toulouse, France. The top pic is from 1976 and shows a big parking space full of cars by the river. It's almost all asphalt, just a few trees, and three people walking. The bottom pic shows how the same area looks today, it's a park with lots of trees, grass, benches and a playground. There's no cars, but the park is full of people, on the grass and along the riverside.

On the top pic is the text Toulouse, 1976. On the bottom pic the text Towin, 2026.

PS: The bottom pic is a few years old, the trees are bigger there now. But it's the pic I could find from the same vantage point.
