Off-trail amongst the large rock formations that seem to be around every corner in the woods of New England.
Portrait view of the same brook as in the first picture surrounded on both its banks by large moss covered stones. In the background, what looks like a trail, is actually a bare spot leading up a little hill of large rocks. The sun is directly overhead and shining down into the clear brook, lighting up the rocks on the brooks bottom, under only 陆 foot of water.
Landscape view of a large formation of rock slabs piled atop each other, measuring about 10 feet high and 10 feet wide. The formation is in a wooded area of both deciduous and conifer trees. The forest floor is a mix of decomposing leaves and needles looking like a reddish tan carpet as it winds its way up a makeshift trail alongside the rocks.
Portrait view of a narrow brook in the foreground surrounded by rocks with very green moss on them. Behind the brook is a steep incline about 50 feet up. It is covered in ferns, small trees, and the flat faces of slate rocks. Some trees appear to be growing right out of the rocky ledges. While the moss is bright green, the ferns are dark green and the needles from the hemlocks are dull green.
