Gleann na Guiserein and Ladhar Bheinn.

The last of my pictures from Knoydart.
I had decided not climb Ladhar Bheinn, reckoning that I wasn't up to the usual route (around the other side), and decided to explore the glen beneath it instead.

But from there I could seen an easy route up, and was kicking myself for not picking it up from the map - and leaving a detailed route card that said I wouldn't climb the mountain!

Still, it was a great day's walk!

A colour photograph of Ladhar Bheinn seem from Mam Uidhe. The large mountain rises behind a dense conifer plantation, its west ridge showing a walking route up to the summit.

The sun is shining and the steep sides of the mountain are bright. The sky behind the mountain is cloudy.

A black and white photograph of the ruined croft at Folach, and behind it the majestic mountain Ladhar Bheinn.

The ruin has no roof. It is a rectangular structure. The nearest, short wall is in shadow. The long wall, in the sun, has a doorway in the middle, and two window-spaces, one each side of the door. Above the wall and doorway stand the remains of a chimney.

Around the ruin is the short grass of a mountain path, and patches of long tussocky grass and rushes.

Some distance behind the ruin rises the large mountain Ladhar Bheinn, which fills the middle of the picture. The summit of Ladhar Bheinn can be seen to the right of the decaying chimney.

Above the mountain are large white clouds, which contrast with the dark sky (an artefact of turning a colour image into black and white).

A colour photogragh of a rocky mountain stream, Allt Coire Torr an Asgail, and behind it the east ridge descending from the mountain Ladhar Bheinn, Aonach Sgoilte, seen from the west.

The stream is in a steep-sided valley. There are boulders scattered around the grassy slopes. The stream itself is very rocky. Upstream there are waterfalls as the stream descends. Some small trees, probably rowan and larch, are growing beside the stream on the steeper slopes.

Above the ridge the sky is cloudy.

'70 organisations back unfreezing of pro-Palestine group's bank account'
In England, the Nationwide Building Society, has frozen pro-Palestinian groups accounts, making itself complicit in an ongoing Genocide!

I spotted this plaque on a wall near the High Street end of Duke Street yesterday. It seems the East End of Glasgow is fighting back against claims by those in the west that Argyle Street is the longest street in Scotland, and against Aberdonian claims that the title should go to King Street in the Granite city.

“Activists who disrupt the flow of weapons to a genocidal regime may violate petty criminal statutes, but they uphold a far greater law and a more profound human imperative: to protect a people and culture from annihilation,” she wrote.
