Incontentabili e polemici, ecco.
There is a correct solution to the trolley problem.
It is this: you design the system with positive train control. You make it so the trolley cannot enter a section where there are people, and you make it so the trolley can be stopped quickly if something goes wrong.
I've been told that this is cheating, a cop-out, or avoiding the "interesting" aspects of the question. I don't think it is. Framing the world as a series of individual can't-win situations and lose-lose decisions _is_ the problem.
Don't do that.

This page is all about owls, who are surprisingly expressive!
Stop saying stupid stuff like:
"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear."
Start saying:
"A free country doesn't track innocent citizens."
FIND yourself a a linux distribution or BSD that does reject AI; use it and donate to it.
If you can't move your daily driver move a secondary machine. Tinker with it, fit it into your life where it makes sense.
YEAH the linux kernel has slop. Most programming languages have slop. Most desktop environments have slop, you will have dependencies that are still slop. This is a big problem; there is no magic off switch to fixing this overnight.
We are in the early days of dealing with a contaminate that polluters are actively dumping into our digital environment.
It is going to take a long time before anyone can truly be slop free.
But support, and invest in the folks doing that hard work which will build a slop free future.
Starlight Network maintains a list of slop rejecting operating systems and distros here: https://noai.starlightnet.work/list.html #floss #AntiAI #linux #bsd #netbsd #elementaryos #gentoo
@schmudde a lot of the early “ai” people at mit hated weiner for this reason. “ai” as a term was invented specifically to exclude weiner…
@emenel I had not heard this.
Do you know John McCarthy's thoughts on Wiener or this in particular? Although McCarthy ended up as a conservative at Standford, I never thought of him as a free market libertarian type.

@Tutanota Exactly…
Oh, yeah, and wire it up with my justfile system.
tbh, I should probably stop using justfiles. The way mine are set up, they're barely more than shell functions wrapped up in makefile-like structure.
But... that's another project. I'll do the bare minimum for now, and will make it nicer later.
My suggestion: spare the time you would need to kick out debian, and use that to learn LaTeX 😎
That has never appealed :)
I tend to use markdown, and typst to convert that to beautiful documents.
