I love how accidentally pressing the “request copilot review” button can now cost you a dollar (or more if it’s a big pr) 💸
Report: US msm was complicit in selling Israel's genocide
That is the conclusion of an analysis of 12,000+ articles from NYT, Washington Post, CNN.com, Politico, Axios, USA Today & AP, & 5,000 television segments aired on CNN & MSNBC.
"Seven recurring patterns, taken together, document the US media’s role in selling Israel’s narrative to the American public." One is Israel's so-called "right to defend itself"

@dramypsyd On the flip side, being able to trust no one is too lonely
@farah I wish there was a third option in between trusting everyone all the time and never trusting anyone ever (only partially kidding)
I need a cat in my life but family can’t reach consensus. And when I say family, it’s just the kid who is somehow terrified of cats, thinking they are gonna eat him 🥲
@farah They would if they could. My cat bites my hand as I’m putting the food into her bowl.
this is a very funny thing to do when you need a set of orthogonal vectors but it's okay if they're slightly off
@halcy How big of a set can you reliably get? When do you start running into birthday paradoxes with it?
People angry at the casting of PoC as mythical Greek heroes should really ask themselves what is the Greek ancestry of Matt Damon.
@Nickiquote @AnarchoNinaWrites I think calling them childish underestimates their broad entertainment value, but absolutely on people attaching their personality to a mythos that is just fun is where it becomes a problem.
aaleo, a lit of people are just sexist about the last
trilogy. Rey is a great character and no more “mary sue” than Luke.
@Extra_Special_Carbon @Nickiquote I mean we can all think what we like, but I think the Prequels work as kids movies and nostalgia bait, but don't was feature action adventure films.
I have no strong opinions about the last 3 movies; I didn't hate them, I didn't love them. Just didn't really trigger a lot of emotions in me - enough that I did not watch the 3rd one tills years after it was out.
They burn books.
Across all Utah public schools, every district copy of each banned book must be destroyed

It's been on my to-do list to spend some time in the beautiful landscapes of Utah, so I'm broken-heartened that Utah isn't there anymore. I've no interest at all in visiting Utaliban.
It's less that atom/RSS is "dead", and more that its "done".
The protocol is finished. It works well. It's stable and unremarkable as opposed to trendy.
And to capitalists, that's "dead".
Nothing to hype, no wealth to extract.
💫 Keyword search for PREreviews, a new spotlight banner on the site, and a much-awaited update for review-requests. Our Product team had a busy work week!

It uses a random Hamiltonian cycle over the vertices of an "icosphere" (the curve touches the hole of each vertex once and loops). Not a fan of the randomness but I can't simply use a space filling curve there. I hope I'm not wasting the idea with weird design/features choices.
A beautiful abandoned mansion just outside Paris. At the foot of the spiral stairs an old grand piano languishes in the ruins, left behind when the owners left.

@liaizon currently it's a compressed string of a JSON inside another JSON string 😂 I could change the data format one day, thus I add versioning with `v: 1` key there. There's probably a better way or format to do this, so feel free to share.
Furthermore, if there's some sort of auto-sync logic, will need to do conflict resolution etc, which I would rather offload this work to a more specialised library or standard.
I can't help but think creating an LLM to verify the claims of LLMs and thus reduce misinformation is the AI equivalent of fighting fire with fire...
Teach people to use their brains and do real research, surely that is the solution?

I don't know what purpose these stairs once served but whatever it was that time seems to be over. Nonetheless the stairs endure and I think that's kind of nice.
Reflecting on my experience of using AI agents for coding, I start wondering what is really hiding behind the concept of a "thinking agent".
Time to take a look inside its brain...

@neonsnake hehehe, I knew the bacon butty would come up eventually. I mean at least he hasn't fucked a dead pig's head.
@casdeiro @gerrymcgovern Thanks for asking. We believe they go hand in hand. Neither can they succeed without the other - and, they are both equally important for Europe’s future.

@EUCommission @gerrymcgovern "Green" is such a silly word to employ... it could mean whatever you want. It has no real scientific meaning, so it could be used for propaganda, of course, but it shouldn't be used for serious policies. And EU's policies should be serious.
Digital technology is not sustainable because it's based on extractivism, i.e., mining, and mining is an unsustainable activity by definition.
You can argue that digital is "convenient", or "necessary", but not that it's "green"
Kid has been in tears since last night because of possible tornadoes. I really wish I could get the hell outta this state
