TIL crows, starlings and similar birds only *look* black to us — they’re actually very colorful in ways human eyes are unable to perceive. 🤯
Remember that next time people can’t see your “colors”.
Some colors just require different eyes.
@leaverou The same applies to people. Don't deny your richness just because you're not understood for the time being.
in about 13 years the children are going to get semi-ironically/semi-earnestly into 2025-era AI art and cybertrucks, you wait and see
Police are using the surveillance state to stalk "love interests" because there really is no difference between the part of my job where I fight state surveillance and the part where I fight domestic abuse: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/may/02/flock-police-surveillance-tech-birds-iran-press-freedom
@evacide Enraging. The fact that city tax dollars (including mine) is paying for this makes my blood boil.
@NunavutBirder oooh a dual! One inuk, two inuuk?
@hongminhee @neal
In French we can use blank space as separators. Of course, not in software.
Why not use blank space too?

US troops are not in Germany to protect Germany. They’re there because the US needs bases to conduct operations beyond the North American continent. If Trump withdraws them, he will harm the United States, not Germany.
It’s absurd how many Americans fail to grasp this.
Only stupid voters can elect and reelect a stupid president.
I hate it when I get to the store to buy groceries and realize I forgot to have generational wealth
Dune (1984)
@NanoRaptor semi serious, most of it.
More serious; If I'm reminded of things I'll probably be able to remember them for myself but if I try to access my own memories for the most part beyond a handful of significant key events my whole life is fuzzy
@critter_in_flux @NanoRaptor It's why I take so many pictures. I can remember things if I see the pictures enough. Other than that it's just bits of events. General impressions of people. But very little of "oh we used to do x y z together". Like I remember that my first friend when I was 4 and I use to play Batman and Robin, but I don't remember what that was like. I mainly remember it because I remember us saying that when we were older. Aphantasia probably plays a role.
And I don't remember anything specific before I was 5. Just later stories, and one image, from when we moved into a new house.
None of this is new. I've never been able to remember that stuff, even when U was young. Just impressions and limited scenes.
@NunavutBirder Lotsa white there still, even on the hare.
@satchmo35 it’ll be there a while
That sounds wonderful.
@farah “I never ask for anything. I drop hints and hope the other person notices. If I ask that is not only selfish and arrogant; they might say no and they would be devastating”.
Ok. I’m done. Promise. I’m gonna put the dopamine slab back on its charger and sleep. ‘Night.
@goatsarah I’m in this picture and etc etc
Hope you have a good sleep!
