Three kittens are resting on a bed. The leftmost cat, Barcode, is looking at the other two. He's white except for his tail, the top of his head, and a strip along his right leg that show a tabby pattern; his leg looks like a bar code, which gave him his name. In the center, Dora is Barcode's sister, she has similar colors but her markings cover more of her body, including her ears and eyes. She was trying to explore everything when she was still a baby, which is how we named her. On the right, Buffy is a colorpoint tabby (i.e. a bit like a Siamese cat), such that her body is very pale but not actually white, while her extremities (ears and face, legs, tail) have visible patterns, somewhat pale except for her tail. Her body is the color of buff titanium pigment, which is the origin for her name. She is missing one of her eyes, but she's not old enough yet for surgery to fix the wound. Dora and Buffy are playing together, with Dora's hind paws pretty much in Buffy's face, while Barcode looks but does not participate. They are sitting on a gray comforter with some stripes, on which they look almost camouflaged. Barcode and Dora are 3 months old, Buffy might be a bit younger (or she might have been slower to grow for not having enough food when she lived in the οpen before we picked her up).
