It should be a requirement that unless you’re a new business any requests for customers to complete customer satisfaction surveys must include details of at least 3 things the company has improved in the last year as a result of previous survey responses. I want to know my effort is achieving something

@jcsteelguitars You do know people will still find ways to get their hands on it right? Not saying it's ok, but remember the community we're talking about here.
@Rich Exactly like this is just ridiculous and makes this guy sound completely stupid, like Jesus Christ anyone would have the sense to not insult people just because they wanna do things differently from the rest of the damn community. @jcsteelguitars
https://www.lifteconomy.com/blog/gerald-partridge
the criminal justice system is inhumane to the victims as well
💙
Hmm nun ist es wohl amtlich.

DICHIARAZIONE DEL COLLETTIVO A/I SULLE SANZIONI DISPOSTE DAL GOVERNO USA NEI SUOI CONFRONTI – A STATEMENT BY A/I COLLECTIVE ABOUT US SANCTIONS
[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW]

Erin West and Paul Raffile went to Nigeria to track down a scammer. They found much more than just his identity.

One for the freelancers/moonlighters amongst us who are sick of over-complicated invoice solutions.
It is August 31st. What have you done this month to recruit others to the #Fediverse?
I spent nearly six hours tracking down a bug that was caused by not blocking signals correctly. As a result, signal processing could occur in the middle of a critical section. To make matters worse, the crash would only occur much later when the desync from the earlier overlapping execution would result in use-after-free and crash. The crash would not occur every time since it was timing-dependent - the signal would need to hit a relatively small window to trigger the issue.
Figuring out the root cause was a lot of manual elimination of potential causes and old-fashioned mental gymnastics. When everything else was ruled out, the only explanation was that two supposedly synchronised calls really were overlapping, despite this being supposedly "impossible". Once this fact was established, I could turn into verifying signal blocking, and the root cause was found rather quickly.
Is it weird that I loved spending six hours of my Sunday on stuff like this?
Debian developer Antoine Le Gonidec just quit the project over its decision not to ban #LLM-assisted code contributions:
Pretending to have a "neutral stance" when faced with fascism is not neutrality, it’s active collaboration.
AI slop is fascism materialized. Stop it whenever you can!

Weather is feeling distinctly autumnal. Doesn't help that a lot of trees have already started changing colour.
