Fantastic news from @swheritage that the Software Hash Identifier (SWHID) is now an ISO/IEC international standard – ISO/IEC 18670!

Last year, members attended a wonderful Deep Dive with @rdicosmo and @moranegg where they discussed the differences between intrinsic and extrinsic #softwareidentifiers.

One of the key things that motivated me in joining the CoARA Steering Board was how we might coordinate across initiatives in the #OpenScience #OpenResearch #ResearchReform space to better support organisations and individuals who want to make positive change.

This joint statement from CoARA and DORA is a small step but an important one in aligning the work of CoARA and DORA. Above all I hope it signals that we are working together.

No-one needs to overthink which organizations to reach out to for support in making change.

Make that contact with whichever initiative(s) makes sense for your strategic priorities and know that we are working behind the scenes to build the networks that will support you when those needs diversify.
