@thomasfuchs meh, disagree. Nationalization puts the risk on us and the (maybe) reward. It’s a too big to fail situation if we’re not already over the cliff on that. Taxing properly is the way to get societal money without risk.

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines.
When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.
@brentsimmons Brent, I love and respect you, and I don’t particularly want get into it with you. I know you didn’t say that this “tech choice” was permissible, but you did lay out a long list of choices you allow in your own life that you think about before criticizing others who make this choice. And I think, when you said that, there’s an implication that you do not want to criticize *this* because you feel that you also do some bad things, therefore, this one gets some sort of pass.

all technology is accessibility - everything enables someone to do more than they naturally could - but who do we choose to enable to do how much, that's what someone somewhere for every new tech thing mostly gets wrong

Today at approximately 10:00, Israeli Security Forces (ISF) forcibly entered the UNRWA Kalandia Training Centre (KTC) in occupied East Jerusalem. At least four armoured vehicles entered the UN premises, accompanied by more than 50 Israeli security personnel. Approximately 20 UNRWA staff members were on site at the time. Israeli officials subsequently made public statements indicating that the premises had been seized by the Israeli authorities.
