This time of year I like to do the converse of early spring, go on walks with an eye out for the very last flowers hanging around.

Most of Belmar Lake is awash with the fluffy tan of rabbitbrush gone to seed.

But there was *one* rabbitbrush still flowering, that a skipper, a honey bee and a yellow jacket were all appreciating.

And a white prairie aster is still out there blooming.

The tiny Warrigal greens shoot that'd self seeded itself in a crack and I took home in half a plastic water bottle I found nearby has embraced the kitchen window area and is thriving.

I probably need to put it in a "proper" pot real soon but I'm kind of worried that if I change tactics at this point I may make things worse.
