@Gargron @mhoye AI scrapers that ignore robots.txt be considered as DDOS attacks and treated accordingly. One small science based forum I’m a member of was continually scraped which brought the server to its knees. Eventually all posts were put behind a member login to stop that, denying whatever little wisdom it may have contained to the wider world.

@eigen That might not be a bad idea to plan ahead for next year. Maybe one of the tracks (EFF, Digital Media, etc.) can host it or do a panel on alternative social media? Some of us would probably need to organize/moderate, though, and I’m not yet willing to throw my hat into the ring for that. I’ve run tech conferences and have spoken at many, but I’ve never been on a panel at #DragonCon, and I’m a little timid about that, for some reason.
