I keep reading that "the code submitted is ultimately the developer's responsibility" but this policy doesn't seem that genuine given our relationship to responsibility and accountability in software, now does it?

It is notable how quickly after capital’s investments in AI that the phrase ‘learn to code’, in the imperative, a shaming of people left behind by tech changes, has disappeared and almost become the mark of a sucker who will themselves be left behind
but instead of going downwards, what happens if we went upwards from the leaves?
importantly, leaves are definitionally files and not directories. so we're not repeating ourselves the same way.
and more importantly, we have no choice about how we pick the upward path from a leaf!
so we would obviously like to assume that we can only ever have one cycle at a time. but in fact it's very easy to describe a mutually recursive data structure by accident--this is why i believe it's important to support this!

As of the end of this week, my employer is giving up on finding me a new contract, and laying me off.
It's bittersweet: this was the only employer I've ever unequivocally liked, but they've always been at the mercy of their megacorp clients, and I'd been waiting all summer for them to find me something. And nobody in the industry wants human writers.
At least I'm not waiting anymore.

I hate Google and the dependency they have created! Our freedom is in danger.
You can find adware apps through their ads, apps that can totally change your launcher and show ads on every click, and it's OK. But they maintain pressure on open-source apps.

The thing I love most about the US right's obsession with the Spartans, is that the Spartans weren't even good at war. They weren't. 🤷🏿♂️
They were obsessed with *battle*. But battle is not war. When you look at their war track record? They lost as much as they won against the poets, farmers and wine drinkers.🤡
Even their battle win loss record was 50/50, and only if you count battles where they fought as part of a coalition. When you look at battles where they fought alone? They lost more than they won.🤡
Why? A silly belief that they were superior, meant they didn't change tactics. They were predictable.
Using Delta Chat, which was your question. Delta Chat only requires an email server, so if you already have one because you build and make them as part of your work, it is a no brainer to use DC and benefit from self-hosted E2EE and easy comms. You get full privacy and control and E2EE - that's a huge benefit over the other platforms you mentioned. The only drawbacks are:
1) You don't self-host so now you don't get the privacy and/or control
2) Delta Chat lacks mature group / moderation controls
3) Delta Chat lacks proper integrated video chat, but/and it does do Jitsi
4) Delta Chat is slightly weaker on meta data leaks than some other offerings (e.g., Simplex)
But, as per your question ... if you already have a self-hosted email server and domain ready to do, DC is a no brainer for an immediate switch and likely a net positive for privacy, control, and E2EE.

So, not a surprise that Apple is renaming Lake Ontario to appease the child rapist that occupies the White House.
If you're stuck using an iPhone or other Apple device you don't have to use Apple Maps or their services. For maps download a privacy respecting, open source map app like Organic Maps.
Pull your data out of iCloud and use a service like Proton which offers a package that includes email, cloud storage, documents, Password manager, VPN, etc.
Boycott #Apple #Google #Meta #Amazon #Microsoft and any other #US #Tech that supports fascism.
No one forces you to use or pay for their services. Move your data. Boycott them.
