As of the end of this week, my employer is giving up on finding me a new contract, and laying me off.
It's bittersweet: this was the only employer I've ever unequivocally liked, but they've always been at the mercy of their megacorp clients, and I'd been waiting all summer for them to find me something. And nobody in the industry wants human writers.
At least I'm not waiting anymore.

@WizardOfDocs Seems to be happening to a lot of people I know, and this week, too.
@wohali yeah, my boss said they were having "setbacks" with a bunch of clients this week. Something has definitely Happened in the last few days.
