To me it seems they can’t get the high repetition coverage of our media or paid advertising, so they need to use us to be that mass media online.
Most of us aren’t clever campaigners, we’re just punters. The party should be sending out material we can use to spread around. Talking points, memes, some simple summaries of policy.
This would be cheap too.
@kentparkstreet1 @aj @sister_ratched @imalcolm @KatCopseyGreens there are email lists that you can get on pretty easily in the ACT where the MLA who is spokes on a policy area sends out regular updates on what they’ve done or are campaigning for, and why it matters. Very useful for talking points.
We also have regular politics in the pub sessions (sometimes at a cafe or park rather than a pub) with guest speakers or the MLA spokes on a topic of interest to members.
It's happening 🔥 (tw: beef)
@Gina How does one say “Nom” in Dutch?
I am genuinely astounded at how poorly the UK #Labour government has prepared the ground for plug in solar (also known as balcony solar).
It’s as if they have no idea how big the take up has been in other European countries or the notion that this could be a big issue between renters and landlords.
Byline Times helpfully have looked into compliance. Please read before thinking of purchase whether you are a renter, home owner or landlord:

A request from our tech team: We are working on expanding our IT infrastructure. With hardware prices being what they are now, we are wondering if there might be someone who has a Hetzner server in the fifty euro range they don’t need any more and would be willing to transfer to us. Thank you!
Aer Lingus computers were down and they were unable to check anyone in at Lyon airport for 40 minutes today. Did not tell anyone what was happening. Total mess. 🙄
Between now and September 25, preserve the history. Share the story. Build the coalition. Document the isolation. Teach the tools. Prepare a lawful defense. Do not allow the state to quietly establish that building privacy-preserving infrastructure for dissent is itself an act of terrorism. Twenty-five years ago, ten people gathered around a recycled machine and deliberately took too long configuring it because everyone in the room was supposed to learn.

"Its manifesto describes the project in explicitly political terms. A/I is antifascist, anti-capitalist and antimilitarist. It promotes free software, encryption, pseudonymity and the independent circulation of knowledge and cultural work. It reserves its limited, volunteer-run resources for people and projects broadly compatible with those principles rather than businesses, political parties, organized religions or institutions already possessing the means to make themselves heard."

I'm getting a bit frustrated with the various Mastodon apps for Android.
Tusky doesn't support quote posts, and scrolling is janky.
Fedilab scrolling also stutters.
Pachli doesn't group notifications.
Mastodon official doesn't let you swipe between the tabs or customise them much.
I'm on a Pixel 8 Pro - so scrolling performance shouldn't be this bad!
What's your favourite #Android **app** (not website / PWA) for the Fediverse that you personally use on a regular basis?

Tusky, but with the same problems that you have, plus I find that it doesn't load all the posts in my feed either (but I don't know if this is a Tusky thing or a Mastodon/API thing).
The reaction and plan for action of #Autistici/Inventati:

"They named the machine Paranoia. The following month it went online, carrying two domains and two intertwined histories: Autistici.org and Inventati.org. Twenty-five years later, on August 26, 2026, the United States designated Autistici/Inventati a Specially Designated Global Terrorist and placed it on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list.

People should be able to communicate without first surrendering themselves to corporations or governments."

@adaliabooks Presumably they're networked to allow for remote monitoring and scheduling maintenance without needing a freezer contractor to be present on each base? (I imagine it's also something supermarkets are into, for that exact reason plus stock management.)
And I could understand that from a supermarket... but for the military? Seriously?
...That remains the lesson. Do not leave the knowledge with experts.
Do not leave the infrastructure in one place. Do not leave the targeted to stand alone.
The first server was called Paranoia.
The network it created was called solidarity.
