More than two decades after victims and families of the 9/11 attacks began trying to hold the Saudi government responsible for aiding the Qaida terrorists who carried out the plot, a judge has ruled that a lawsuit against the kingdom can go to trial.

Personnel from #WestVirginia arrived Monday, with troops from #SouthCarolina, #Mississippi & advance teams from #Ohio & #Tennessee expected to arrive Tuesday, a defense official said.….

[The #NationalGuard troops are]…operating under the command of Joint Task Force DC, which will decide where in the city to send troops in coordination w/agencies asking for assistance.

#Louisiana mobilized 135 personnel over the weekend & expect them to arrive in #Washington on Tuesday, said Lt. Col. Noel Collins, a spox for the Louisiana #NationalGuard.
Information about where the #troops would patrol & where they would be housed has been scant. A #Trump admin official said Monday that the Guard members “will protect federal assets, create a safe environment for #law enforcement officials to carry out their duties when required, & provide a visible presence to deter crime.”
