I don't normally do this but the Fediverse tends to be very good on #MutualAid. This young man is the nephew of one of @SaintlySin 's colleagues and was left hospitalised by a brutal attack. The family is trying to raise money to do something nice for him when he gets home, if you have a few quid going spare I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

Il fatto è che sia nella cultura sia nella tecnologia io pur sapendo quali sono le tecniche, sono fermamente contraria a giocare sporco con la sola finalità di prenderci soldi su. I soldi vanno bene, non si vive di aria; ma se vuoi vendere devi anche fidelizzare chi compra, in modo corretto. Io almeno la penso così e in questa era di povertà culturale, credo sia importante aver rispetto dei propri lettori - cosa che amazon kdp evidentemente non considera perché ti costringe "paga o gioca sporco"
@elettrona @AnotherJoe @informapirata @aitech in effetti è proprio così. Google durante il periodo del COVID mi ha aiutato a vendere, no Amazon, ma da vari anni anche Google ha chiuso i rubinetti. Resta qualcosina su kobo che arriva anche su altri store come Feltrinelli, Mondadori e IBS. Ma sono spiccioli proprio, e nemmeno costanti. Ogni tanto permettono di aderire alle loro promozioni, ma non sempre selezionano e non sempre la promozione funziona, ma almeno non ti chiedono soldi come Amazon.

OK, looking at the stock price, we see that roughly the last two years, META stock price is low, and the dividend yield is low, so if you bought META after about 2024 your investment is crap, but if you bought roughly before 2024 you did ok, and if you bought earlier you did really well
if you bought before 2014, your investment is a "ten bagger"

The first time this complicated subject dawned on me was some time in the early 90s when some encryption program on my Amiga asked the user to move the mouse around for a few seconds. 🤯
@ritchey_de Also probably not a great source of entropy because human mouse movements are definitely not evenly distributed across all possible mouse movements!

Sonne und Wind lassen sich halt nicht künstlich verknappen... Ungünstig für Anbieter. Aber der Trend geht ja auf dem "freien" Markt dahin, dass der Staat die veralteten Geschäftsmodelle um jeden Preis erhalten soll.
