Excited to announce that the @EUCommission has updated it's follow buttons on the website footer!
What's that first platform there? Could that be #Mastodon?
And where did the link to #X go?
All the posts and comments here on Mastodon calling for this, trust me we read them!
@kenobit rimettiti in forma <3
yes, he's escalated his attacks. sorry he got to you
Sorry no one (including me) has had the wherewithal to build a better solution.

@cassolotl so you're saying you brought this on yourself? lol
@WizardOfDocs Most likely, yes! Haha :D
In discussing how I'd handle various I/O mediums in my hypothetical string-centric computer... I've mentioned the need for a cryptography a couple times! So how'd I handle this?
Many modern symmetric ciphers & hash functions use a mix of addition, bit-rotate, & XOR operations. Since knowing XOR's output still leaves the input probabilities at 50%-50%! Addition & rotation spreads this uncertainty out.
So a bare-bones "Arithmetic Core" coprocessor *with* a barrel shifter can handle these.

If your AI use costs less than what it would take to pay a human to do it, then you're what's called a "mark" in the "pre rug-pull" phase of the grift
When they start passing those costs on to you, you will graduate to being the "bag holder"
So think hard about whether you want any "load bearing" tasks to be handled by an AI
@researchfairy cool cool cool
Huge respect for the EU Commission, @EUCommission, who have updated their webpage with a new follow button — X is out, Mastodon is in!
Remember to reward them with a follow! ♥️🇪🇺

@brooke They can't talk about us talking about them.
@siracusa no underlying theory whatsoever as far as I can see. Unless “shiny side out” is a theory… who can say?
@chrisgardner Ask!
Interesting, the Texas Department of State Health Services had put in a new requirement (post Camp Mystic) that all youth camps have fiber optic Internet service. (being challenged in court)
"...The Texas Department of State Health Services has reached an agreement with a group of youth camp operators regarding legal requirements that all camps licensed by DSHS maintain fiber optic internet service.
Under the agreement, camps that maintain a redundant, broadband internet service will not face potential license denial or revocation for not having fiber service during the 2026 camping season, as long as they meet all other safety requirements...."

@ai6yr Is this for emergency alerting? That seems like a very specific requirement that doesn't correlate especially well with reliability. Why not satellite or terrestrial wireless? And is fiber service even available everywhere there are camps?
So the rules are, legally speaking, the GOP gets to rig elections and the Dems can't.
But hey, you got this right? You got a great plan - you're gonna vote the bums out and nothing else needs to be done - right?
Clown country, clown society, clown people.
@AnarchoNinaWrites
small thought:
Graeber suggests that "western" "democracy" (voting for things) came from greek mercenary decision-making e.g. in "Anabasis," as a stand-in for bloody infightinf
the most democratic (inclusively representative) of the Rev-War-era state constitutions was Pennsylvania's, after a "we fight for you but we can't vote?!!" militia mutiny
many liberal and conservative political writers suggest that "democracy" (voting) is a kind of proxy bloodless civil war

The unleaded premium petrol was $5.1+
I don’t have flex fuel option, so have to go the medium route
Even the ethanol added was like $4.65
All of this is absolute bullshit
What are you driving? Premium is for high compression performance engines, are you a car nut too?
@siracusa Hyperspace saved me literally 1.5TB this week across three drives! (I expected 10–20% of that number.)

I don’t mean as a pejorative. I think it’s a useful way to frame the thing we’re invoking, at least for me.
One million people will now re-explain me that the models don‘t know what is true (which is fine, I posted words, that can’t go unpunished) and am I not sure how to explain that I am not really just talking about truth, in this particular thread.
