The UN special rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories on Saturday warned against the “Israelization of Europe.”

Does anyone look at pinned posts? I forget they exist then very occasionally remember. I almost never look at other peoples, but am going to try from now on. I'm never really sure what to have as mine. I used to have my introduction posts but then changed it to include my posts that people interacted with the most as that seemed to make more sense. But I think I might change that to my weirdest (and often least interacted with) posts that make me laugh, because that would tickle me. What are your thoughts?... 😊

La vie n'est pas un long fleuve tranquille.
Il y a plein d'interaction à la con entre les DLL/runtimes Windows.
Exemple: Si j'installe le vieux "Microsoft Media Foundation" (des composants média qui datent de Vista), ça fait planter "Journey to the savage planet" (un jeu sorti en 2021). 😒
Je vais peut-être revenir à une version avec juste les runtimes vraiment nécessaires (vcrun2026,xna40,dotnet4,openal,physx,dxvk,vkd3d) et éliminer les vieux trucs.
@sebsauvage y'a pas moyen de rendre visible le « bon» jeu de DLL en fonction de ce qu'on démarre ? 🤔

Neil-specific annoyance of the day: software which does not respect/support Ctrl + u for clearing the current line before the cursor.
@neil see also ctrl-e to leap to end of line unless its something that decides you were writing text and really wanted it centred. Grr.

I was wondering why I was seeing so many "Co-authored-by: Copilot" commits recently. It turns out VS Code added a "feature" that inserts that into your commits automatically, even if you're not using Copilot.
It looks like people complained about this, which went nowhere until this hit the front page of HN. After this was the top HN story Saturday, an MS engineer submitted a PR to switch this feature to default off an hour ago (midnight Redmond time).
What will they think of next?
