Au cœur de la motivation du régime étasunien de censurer A/I, une méprise.
En voulant faire un lien entre le collectif Rose City Antifa et un autre groupe antifasciste, Jane’s Revenge, les initiateurs de l’ordre ont confondu Rose City Antifa (qui n’utilisait pas les services de A/I) avec un autre collectif de Portland, Rose City Counter-Info qui utilisait des services de A/I (Rose City est un surnom de Portland, dans l’Oregon).
A/I était un excellent bouc émissaire pour “prouver” l’existence d’un groupe organisé “Antifa” transnational. Jusque là ils ne pouvaient pas tirer de lien entre plusieurs collectifs aux mêmes motivations, situés aux quatre coins des États-Unis. En désignant A/I dans cette liste d’organisations terroristes ça permettait de faire d’une pierre deux coups : “prouver” l’existence de l’ennemi ANTIFA, et faire taire d’un coup toute une partie de la culture mondiale antifasciste.
