This early morning information from insomnia-scrolling Mastodon led me to learn about the Indus Valley Civilization—cities with sewers 2k years before Jesus!

The only attribution for decline is an association with a worldwide decline ~1700 BCE due to a 100-year mega-drought + cooling climate change ("4.2-kiloyear event") from a significant weakening of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation, which scientists fear will occur again in our lifetime due to carbon emissions.

Just one, according to a new study.

Researchers from the University of Göttingen in Germany and the University of Edinburgh analyzed food production data from 186 countries.

The findings revealed that Guyana is the only country that can be entirely self-sufficient in all seven key food groups that the study focused on.
China and Vietnam were the runners-up, producing enough food to meet their populations' needs in six out of the seven categories.
Just one in seven countries hits the quota in five or more food groups,
while more than a third are self-sufficient in two or fewer groups.
Six countries – Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Macau, Qatar, and Yemen – were unable to meet self-sufficiency in any food group.

@eivind Looking for alternatives as well - I'm part of the community (for accessibility testing, and for some plugins Italian translation including ActivityPub) and I'm quite "dependant" on WordPress's editor to publish and design templates in a system with accessibility in mind, due to their (still large) accessibility testing team.
But this intention of embracing automatized development/creation from the base, is not the right way. Due to my visual disability (blind) I have used, and use, so-called "AI" in some tasks such as image descriptions. One of my blind networking friends say they use it to build pages as well, but what literally scares me is the complete lack of control. On licenses, and on what they develop. If today they give you the ability to create with a quite affordable price for the API, what happens tomorrow? All this datacenter stuff is devastating environment and manipulating reality.

@wizzwizz4 the assumptions here are that ("like tor") we want to make user communications indifferentiable to a global passive adversary. this is accomplished in three main ways:
(1) source routing i.e. sending datagrams through a sequence of pre-negotiated channels (this essentially does onion routing)
(2) splitting messages into a sequence of datagrams to reconstitute at the destination (this can be thought of as like bittorrent)
(3) message mixing between nodes that achieves a constant bandwidth/bit rate between each pair of neighbors at all times (the mixing behavior batches messages between neighbors and encrypts each batch in a ratcheting channel--this may be double ratchet, but it may be another racheting cryptosystem since double ratchet is meant to be asynchronous and makes other assumptions we don't need for this)
