@Nonilex If you listen to his speech, Carney is saying that middle powers need to diversify their relationships so that they are not dependent on a single power. Doing a better deal with China is simply a hedge, they will not become dependent on China like they were on the US. Trump’s world view is so selfish that he can’t see that there is any path other than becoming a vassal to some more powerful country.
