@ami_angelwings The Crimson King at the end of Stephen King's Dark Tower series. In Insomnia, he came across as a force of cosmic horror who menaced the stability of the entire multiverse, but at the end of Dark Tower Bk 7 he was just a senile, querulous old man cackling as he tossed grenades.
