#CoffeeWithCrissy s1e6 #FediCollective was born from #FediCon2025 The difference between Big Social (walled garden) vs. Fedi Garden (open web/Fedi) is about who's in charge.

In a walled garden (like big social platforms), one company owns the whole place. This means
1. You don't own your data. Your photos, your words, your ideas are used to make money for them
2. The rules can change at any time. The company decides what's right and what's wrong, and they can change the rules overnight
3. You feel like you're just a visitor. You're there to scroll, not to build

In the Fedi Garden, we have a different way of doing things. Here's what we believe
1. You own your data. Your content belongs to you. No one can track you or sell your info
2. The communities set the rules. Each small garden (or server) has its own rules, so you can find a community that feels safe and right for you
3. You are a co-creator. You are not just a user, you're a builder. You help create the culture and the space
