Encouraging my #vancouver followers on here to speak out to council against their brutal planned cuts to the city services and staff in the name of freezing property taxes. I sent in a written comment about the dilapidated condition of recreational infrastructure in my area and why there's no reason to make such deep cuts. In the city's own report in advance of the budget, 60% said their top priority is quality services and infrastructure. 😵‍💫

These patches of wild abandon are purposefully crafted #habitats and foraging grounds for pollinating insects, part of the city’s Pollinator #Meadows program: an initiative designed to #rewild city boulevards and parks managed by the City of Vancouver’s Parks Board.

It’s a program that, since its conception in 2020, has paid dividends.

I had the pleasure of watching Cory Doctorow @pluralistic on Granville Island in #Vancouver! Thanks for visiting!

We had our share of shade thrown towards a #BritishColumbia -grown Harper cabinet member. But otherwise, we were a receptive audience to Cory's notion that #solidarity and #unions are the greatest source of our power to counteract enshittification. Plenty of allusions to the #Fediverse throughout.
