Terry Pratchett’s on Tolkien’s influence on fantasy:
J.R.R. Tolkien has become a sort of mountain, appearing in all subsequent fantasy in the way that Mt. Fuji appears so often in Japanese prints. Sometimes it’s big and up close. Sometimes it’s a shape on the horizon. Sometimes it’s not there at all, which means that the artist either has made a deliberate decision against the mountain, which is interesting in itself, or is in fact standing on Mt. Fuji.

I didn't need the Book as I already have two copies, but I bought Night Watch by Sir Terry Pratchett as it's now a Penguin Classic... A bloody Penguin Classic... Best book he wrote imo.... Did I mention it's a Penguin Classic
Pour terminer (et on sait pourquoi on peut la terminer 🥲) ma collection du disque-monde à l'Atalante, il me manque les 6 bouquins suivants :
- Les zinzins d'Olive-Oued
- Le faucheur
- Nobliaux et sorcières
- Accros du roc
- Masquarade
et Le fabuleux Maurice et ses rongeurs savants.
Si jamais vous les vendiez à un prix raisonnable, ça m'intéresse !

If I could single out a single book as being significantly influential on my writing that would be a self-own—highlighting my lack of breadth of coverage!
I think I remember reading a Terry #Pratchett quote recommending that an aspiring writer should read as much as they can, but I sadly can't find it again.
