Yesterday was a reference generation day photographing some simple flowers ready for lessons in modelling form. Tried a quick, loose, yellow carnation at the end with only two colors for the bloom. A nice effect I think. #watercolor #watercolorpainting #watercolorflowers #carnationpainting

Portrait of two sand cranes standing in shallow marsh water at sunset. Seen in side view one crane is behind the other and the one in front has one leg raised. Their deep shadows fall towards us. The marsh grasses are thick on the far side of the water and a corner of grass can be seen in the foreground. The birds are in silhouette against the dramatic sunset of reds, oranges, yellows and gold.
