Before I can switch gears and begin on my smoke fired pots, I’ve got to finish up this last batch. It’ll be a mixture of smaller sized tableware, a couple of lamps and some larger pieces for an upcoming show. I’m in the carving and decorating phase of the cycle now. Next comes the bisque fire, glazing and then firing one last time. The pottery cycle reminds me of the cycle of the moon. My next online sale will be on Saturday, November 22nd. #pottery #ceramics #WIP

Ten of my 11”x14” linocut prints on cream coloured washi paper with bark inclusions are laid out on a table to dry. They are in their first state, with the sea and sky background printed. The outline of sea faces is unprinted in the dark blue sea below the as-of-yet-unprinted Selkie on a rock and the blue sky.

Rough traditional pencil sketch of a cartoon anthropomorphic/furry Australian dingo. He is drawn in a dynamic way, with a more expressive facial expression and body gesture than the usual ways the artist, (me, Puplaroid) used to draw him times. before. I'm quite proud of this sketch, so this is a Mastodon-exclusive preview of a future digital artwork.

Ce dessin c'est mon "dessin à temps libre", sur lequel je me mets entre deux moments de boulot, dans le tram ou quand j'ai quelques minutes à passer avant un rendez-vous. C'est très agréable d’improviser pour le remplir doucement

okay, so i was able to get a new paint set at michaels last week: a 48-color set for $16 with one of their numerous coupons. (omfg, the neverending sale emails they send ) it ain't nowhere near as patchy as that last set i had to send back, but it is rather thin for acrylic paint. it's more like a heavy watercolor-sorta thing to me.

A digital painting of a mountain range in winter under a blue sky. Somewhat unnaturally, it is completely covered in snow with no rocks or trees showing. More an exercise in juxtaposing vivid blues with light, warm creamy colours where the sun hits the peaks.

Yama orabi- the mountain shouter is a terrifying Japanese echo yōkai. It mimics people’s yells in the mountain. It looks like a little bird with an exceptionally large head and sharp pointy teeth!
