Zwölf bis 14 große Händler werden wohl dabei sein, wenn es in der zweiten November-Hälfte losgeht. Danach sollen schrittweise weitere Händler dazukommen. Um beim Bäcker, im Kleidergeschäft oder Café mit Wero zu bezahlen, dauert es noch etwas. Voraussichtlich Ende 2026, Anfang 2027 soll die Funktion für die klassischen Geschäfte bereit stehen."

Warum bedeutet "Souveränität" in Europa eigentlich immer nur "wir wollen Profit in Europa, welche nicht europäischen Tools genutzt werden ist doch egal, Hauptsache Profit für uns"❓
Neues Beispiel: #Wero, der "neue" europäische Zahlungsdienst der European Payments Initiative (EPI), tritt mit dem Anspruch für europäische Souveränität auf, will es besser machen als PayPal & Co.
Website wird von DigitalOcean, LLC, Broomfield, Colorado, USA gehostet.
Im Gegensatz zu Zahlungen mit PayPal hat man Smartphone- und App-Zwang, incl. Tracker wie z.B. instabug.com - natürlich aus San Francisco, USA.
Bestätigungsmails, mit dem Wero-Code für die App, kommen von Amazon-Server.
Fazit: Grundsätzlich guter Ansatz, aber auf außereuropäischer Technologie, und somit schlecht umgesetzt. Schade!

Not sure if it will be available internationally.
But the two major German coop banking groups are on board, so that might be as good as it gets from a "power to the people" perspective.
