Recently I needed to do some pro-bono development that would get me hated by the Maple MAGA.
For my customer’s project, I needed a git archive, a web site, and an email address, all under an alias. The alias was so that the bad guys would need a court order to figure out who to kill (:-))
The usual way to blow your operational security (OPSEC) is to start out ad-hoc, and leave easter-eggs behind for the bad guys to find. For example, getting a repo using your real email address.
To make this possible in Linux, you need to do it in the correct order.
If you use Libre Office to do your documentation, it will record who that created a document, modified it, or commented on it. That could turn your documentation into a neon arrow pointing at yourself.
Ditto for most image files. If you take any yourself, they will have the author’s name in the metadata.
@Bonfire I would like to support your current crowdfunding campaign but I do not want anything in return; also I do not want to share my postal address with Indiegogo. Is there a way I can just donate?
@smeikx@graz.social you can do so here, thanks! opencollective.com/bonfire-n...

@mavnn@bonfire.mavnn.eu how did you try disabling locales?

hey @Bonfire ! i saw this thread and thought you might be interested. there are currently solutions like OpenTracks for tracking physical activity statistics, but none have direct integration with ActivityPub for social sharing. A bonfire extension to integrate with an existing activity tracker could help many cyclists, hikers, runners, and more activity clubs migrate from Strava to communities on the fediverse
That'd be a cool extension indeed! Have you also looked at wanderer.to ?
Anyone know the next place to look for what might be requesting these, or force them to be generated in turn rather than (it appears) concurrently?
Context: I don't know elixir, but for reasons I'm running my own @bonfire@indieweb.social instance on bare metal and I'm happy to mess in source code if needed.

Amazing. W (I kid you not): A bunch of VC-funded European Big Tech assholes attempting to rewrite history by erasing the federated European alternatives that already exist to create their own centralised, surveillance-ridden X clone.
Same shit, different flag.
And I’m sure the usual fools will flock to it the moment it’s ready.
Fuck these people.
