The US government has designated the Italian collective Autistici/Inventati, which produces the infrastructure of NoBlogs.org, a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist," freezing their assets and prohibiting all transactions with them——citing their "far-left" politics and the fact that they have provided services to "anti-fascist" groups for justification.
Autistici/Inventati is an activist-oriented tech project that offers encrypted communications tools, email, web hosting, secure chat, and video conferencing platforms for users who prefer to stay off corporate grids.
This is what the US government is shutting down as "terrorism."

“Young users will now have less access to Meta products, and a lesser ability to exercise their rights to speak, access information and art and culture, associate and form communities, and play. @eff Or, hear me out, everything Meta is shit, interacting with it is likely to make your life worse, and sane and sensible people should avoid it. Perhaps it's good if it's frustrating or unreachable by people most at risk of being harmed by it, as THERE ARE BETTER ALTERNATIVES.
At some point, we have to accept that we cannot make the sewers child-safe, no matter what we do.
It's dispiriting to me that this statement seems to treat Meta like an essential human resource. IT ISN'T.

Am Samstag hat Merz noch angekündigt, dass er "alles dafür tun würde, den Klimawandel zurückzudrängen". Heute bei der Pressekonferenz der Kabinettsklausur war davon nichts zu hören. Dabei könnte Schwarzrot handeln! Die Rücknahme der Anti-Klima-Gesetze, wie Netzpaket oder EEG-Novelle wäre ein Anfang.
