🌍 We are proud to announce that the DECODES project (Datacenter Energy Consumption Optimisation by DNS EvaluationS) has been selected by the ANR (French National Research Agency) as part of its call for projects launched at the end of 2024.

🔋 Objective: to optimise the energy consumption of data centers by assessing the role and impact of the DNS (Domain Name System).

Ok people I hear you: you want a photo of Duck in the datacenter. While I can't give you the original I can give you a realistic video re-enactment!

I've tried to stay accurate but was limited to available materials in my home workshop. Most obvious change is that one of our chicken (a hen, to stay as close to reality as possible) is cosplaying as Duck. Otherwise I think we've captured the datacenter setting rather well.

I hope this satisfies your curiosity.

More than a dozen states have begun taking steps as #DataCenters drive a rapid build-out of #PowerPlants & transmission lines.

That has meant pressuring the nation’s biggest #power #grid operator to clamp down on price increases, studying the effect of data centers on #electricity #bills or pushing #DataCenter owners to pay a larger share of local transmission costs.

So on Wednesday we basically won. The #Tucson city council voted to totally KILL the proposed Amazon-operated #hyperscale #datacenter known as "Project Blue". In fact, the vote was unanimous to kill it, including the mayor.

of course it's not totally over, there wil be other attempts to build these monstrosities in our area, and all over the place. But this is an inspiring victory.
