affirmations when opening a stuck jar:
- I am stronger than the jar
- i know what left and right are
- smashing the jar will make a mess
- i have strong and dextrous hands

Anyone going to this?
21st - 23rd August near #Bakewell in #Derbyshire
There was an update on their facebook page a day ago, so it seems like it's definitely on.
I've just got a ticket - there's not many left apparently.
It's great so far!
Loads of #HouseMusic, #DeepHouse, some #Breakbeat and a bit of hard-core last night

Your hairdresser is applying chemicals to your scalp.
And we have opinions about which ones. The very strong ones.
Some substances once used in hair dyes were linked to serious health risks. So, we restricted them in the EU cosmetics market.
No public drama. Just dangerous products replaced on salon shelves by better ones.
Your colour still looks the same. The risk profile doesn’t.
— EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009: In force since 11 July 2013 + restricted substances updates
@EUCommission I'm even surprised that the regulation came so late.
In 1993, I lived in a non-EU country where strong red colours were trendy at that time. You could buy cheap colour powders on wild markets, which were not henna but a toxic mix of heavy metals.
Doctors wondered why so many women got massive hair loss.
The richest bought EU products. But at that time, too much colouring even with that damaged the hair. And I’m only talking about direct damage.
Good news.
The climate
emergency
is over.
Unsay it.
Unsee it.
Sorted.

@urlyman there we go. I knew those bright sparks at reform would know how to solve our problems. 😉
If only MAGA voters could eat racism, the cost of living would be $0.
We've got a few shiploads of old shoes for them to chew on—the kind we normally use to throw at Americans if they dare to come here on vacation. That is, if they can afford the import duties...

@Tutanota If one cares about their data's privacy, and ad-less experience... why would they use Edge (or Chrome for that matter) in the first place?
My website and its RSS feed were/are compromised. 😱
I’m working on fixing things up. Thank you to everyone who reported the problem to me. (And, I suppose, thanks for subscribing to my blog!)

I’m very sorry. The one-time code experience on iMessage had been getting some praise online in Japan, and when I mentioned your Mastodon in that context, it may have caused an unexpected surge of traffic to your server. I didn’t realize this until later. I’ve since deleted the post, so I hope this won’t happen again.
I’m truly sorry for the trouble I caused.
Any day I can be in the studio for an hour is a good day.

preaching today (for the first time) was a lawyer who volunteers at sunday school sometimes. he analogized EVERYTHING to lawyer shit to the point it felt like a bit, invoking jargon no one could possibly be expected to know. the substance of it was basic but he started tearing up at the end so he got a standing ovation. lowk i wonder if he used chatgpt for at least some of it cuz istg he did the "its not x, its y" thing every few seconds, every available opportunity
@detondev lmao
"According to the research paper, pasture covered by solar panels showed 38% less grass production compared to uncovered pasture, while lamb gains were comparable to those in normal grazing areas. This case suggests the viability of a concept that allows land to serve as both an electricity source and grazing land (...) the lambs consumed less quantity, but more quality food, and the numbers worked out almost perfectly"
And it works for animals, too.

@amoroso I'm amused by an "interim" file server protocol still receiving work today, and how this means the original files could still be served under their original protocol. Cool computer history beans

@dotjayne A forever protocol.
