IFS (Interim File server) was an early network protocol suite developed at Xerox PARC and based around the PUP Ethernet protocol (PARC Universal Packet). This is an implementation of IFS for modern systems that is designed to work with the ContrAlto Xerox Alto emulator.

@amoroso I'm amused by an "interim" file server protocol still receiving work today, and how this means the original files could still be served under their original protocol. Cool computer history beans
