I caught up late with the #lfc game vs Newcastle. Nothing about it made me think that switching managers was the answer to the problems of last season. There was a lack of confidence and a lack of quality in certain areas.
Gakpo was our most likely source of a goal but apparently they want to sell him. We created almost no chances within the 6 yard box. Near the end, Izak thought he should have got a better ball from Kirkez, when he was well placed for a tap-in, and he was right. Kirkez should have done.
In fact, Kirkez was crap, embarrassed by Elanga and having to be lectured by Virgil on a number of occasions. Frimpong was better defensively than him, but his delivery into the box is so far beneath Trent’s that it only emphasises what we are missing. Jacquet was impressive on the ball but neither of van Dijk’s centre back partners looked up to standard defensively.
Gravenberch gave us some drive and was mostly excellent. Dom also a class apart. Munoz looked promising in his cameo. But we are back to where we were at the start of last season: still trying to find an identity as a team. Will we have to wait another season for this to be sorted out? In which case, you could have left Slot to do it.
@cyrilwinstanley No, you couldn't have had Slot. He had burnt his credit after a full year of not finding any solutions.
Another full year of the same was impossible.
Accessibility is important, which is why we already support a setting that requires you to add Alt Text to posts before they are shared!
You can also set the default post visibility across web and mobile currently, but this will be more prominent in our new mobile app ✨
@pixelfed is the mobile app already updated?
i read the subexponential discrete log paper by lenstra and there are multiple obvious flaws with it
No, it's not. You do realize that statistics is a subject you can study, right?
We would have accepted but still been slightly annoyed by "In a moderately interesting coincidence ..."

(I also helped a lot with the book)
you can buy a copy, but the author herself recommends you pirate it and then buy the paperback if you like. Download it! You're allowed!

@stefan Ja super!!!
#ClimateDiary A new term I learned recently and have to log here: #FalseAutumn. All those trees already hsving brown leaves ans shedding them in August: that’s what it describes. Saw this everywhere on holiday in France and back here in Sussex (UK) too.

So DHH (the racist and fascist) got 8 million USD for his foundation for his garbage half-baked config files that he claims are a "distribution".

@tante wah, what a strange thing that is !
23°C outside, somehow 26°C indoors.
I'm really looking forward to being cold!
@andycarolan Be careful what you wish for! 🥶
Climate optimism from a French village destroyed by wildfire:
"The mayor, Martial Zaninetti, who is not affiliated with any political party, said that after 35 years living in Le Porge, he had discovered "a new face of community." Mathou Lantié, a volunteer at the community café La Grange A Tiroirs – where villagers gather for activities, a drink or conversation – said that "all the barriers have come down between generations, the masks have dropped. We talk, we give and receive like never before." She has met more people since July 21 than she had in 20 years living here."

This is not some hollywood dystopia - that's really telling you about the wealthy and privileged's fear, that social collapse implies lawless violence - this is reality: that in the face of disaster, people co-operate, selflessly help each other, rediscover a humanity and community they had almost forgotten, or that had been almost hidden from them.
@GeofCox This is dangerous for the elite.
People coming together and talking, and realizing they can actually fix things themselves and that the elite is not part of any solution but the cause of the problems.
That's how regimes fall.

@NanoRaptor Swears like a one eyed carpenter and then gets distracted by a weird niche tech project.
50/50 chance it also wants some chicken nuggies.
