@sinituulia to put my fear in perspective, I have a filter called "serpents of evil" for any mention of the word snake, so I don't see pictures of them. I took a gamble that being in northern Finland, your toot didn't have a photo of a snake. So clicked on the CW.
@quixoticgeek There's maybe two common sorts here, one the common viper and one non-venomous, and neither of them I've ever personally seen in the wild! This isn't Australia!
I'd probably also properly tag them if I did ever manage a photo 🤔 But yes
x and c letters being this close to each other on keyboard is fucking criminal. wanted to write "lemme show you one sec" and made the worst typo ever

The two hardest problems in Computer Science are
1. Human communication
2. Getting people in tech to believe that human communication is important
If you've ever cleared out an older relation's house to help them move or because they died then you know that thing that older people tell you get people "we were smart with our money and didn't buy loads of rubbish" is codswallop.

Someone questioned whether I’m really a teacher and called me a beggar because I kept asking for a can of milk.
This is a short video from my humble school, where I teach orphaned children and children who survived genocide.
I am not a beggar. I am a classroom teacher.
I need a can of milk for my baby.

Accessibility is important, which is why we already support a setting that requires you to add Alt Text to posts before they are shared!
You can also set the default post visibility across web and mobile currently, but this will be more prominent in our new mobile app ✨
@pixelfed If accessibility is this important why does adding alt-text remain optional? You still leave it the choice of the user.
I understand the friction here and I am not saying there's an easy answer but at the same time we do make sure other communities have some protection/support - you can't go spew racist or homophobic bs for example.
Analysis by the non-profit group Foxglove reveals that when fully operational, the Wapseys Wood datacentre in Buckinghamshire and the Quest Park datacentre in Bedfordshire will use 1.3GW of power and will produce more than 4.5m tonnes of carbon emissions.

@stopthatgirl7 @bleeptrack - This OBS, right? https://obsproject.com/
@tinker yep 😊 it can be a bit confusing to set up because the main purpose is streaming and not necessarily screen recording. If you need help, let me know 👍
