The sheer scale of destruction amid Himalayan glacier collapse disaster is horrifying, as is presumptive human toll. This was no mere flash flood or mudslide--it was more akin to a geologic-scale debris avalanche or "inland tsunami." The footage emerging is almost unbelievable.

Tbh, ed has for decades been the one emergency editor that I could safely assume to always be available, no matter how fucked up my system was.
It's more capable than SOS, more user friendly than TECO (and nobody would claim these days that ed is user friendly...), and available on pretty much any vaguely unix-like system.
And to my knowledge, it has not been ruined by association with fascists or AI fanboys.

I am neither a geologist nor a glaciologist--though I am a climate scientist, and there likely is a climate change contribution to this disaster. Mountain glaciers are melting rapidly, & mountainsides buttressing them are destabilizing. But exact mechanisms here remain TBD.

Los registros de la Casa Rosada revelaron que el cofundador de Próspera, la ciudad privada de Honduras financiada por #Thiel, se reunió con funcionarios del gobierno de #Milei antes que el propio empresario tecnológico.
Y un archivo periodístico arrojó un dato inquietante: Thiel intentó entrar a la Argentina por primera vez hace diez años, cuando estuvo a punto de quedarse con los archivos secretos de la AMIA. Hoy, esa información sobre la que fue posible volver y profundizar, adquiere un nuevo significado.
La que sigue es la historia jamás contada sobre los meses que Thiel pasó entre nosotros.

Every photo of Altman has him looking like a clown, and yet Musk somehow manages to get everyone to thumbnail their articles with him smirking and mugging like some white supremacist Urkel (that adorable little scamp).
